Councillor Matt Dell
First elected to Victoria City Council in 2022, Councillor Matt Dell brings experience as a community volunteer, parent, musician, and policy maker with the BC Government. Matt brings a pragmatic, results-focused approach to city hall, and believes that success in local government happens when citizens work collaboratively to create lasting positive change.
Prior to joining council, Matt worked hard to build connected and vibrant communities in Victoria. Matt served for five years as President of South Jubilee Neighbourood Association, volunteered on the board of National Little League and Oaklands PAC, and has a long history as a touring musician and arts organizer in Victoria.
Matt is passionate about working for residents and supporting community-led change. He is a strong advocate for improved parks and public spaces, housing affordability, 15-minute communities, climate action, arts and culture, safe streets and effective governance.
Matt lives in the South Jubilee neighborhood with his wife Rebecca and children Sophie (6) and Corbin (10). He has a master’s degree in Political Science from UVIC.
