Director Dean Jantzen

Dean Jantzen was elected to Council in 2011 and appointed to serve as a Director of CREST in late 2020 bringing to a wealth of public safety experience with him. After service in the Armed Forces and as a Corrections Officer, Dean Jantzen moved to Greater Victoria more than two decades ago to begin a successful career in law enforcement as a police officer. Dean is passionate about community safety and considers public service an honour. As a former Media Relations Officer, Dean understands the important role that reliable and trusted communication networks and citizen engagement play in the delivery of quality public safety services. In 2009, Dean was appointed citizen representative on the Colwood Protective Services Committee where he worked closely with the Colwood Fire Department, Westshore RCMP and Colwood Bylaws Enforcement to ensure an informed and integrated approach to improving safety throughout the community. Dean and his family have proudly called Colwood home since 2006 and they value the community’s natural environment spending time outdoors exploring parks, streams, beaches and trails.
