Thanks to a co-location agreement with TELUS, CREST has added a new communications site to its public safety network in Colwood at Royal Bay.

Located on the site of a former aggregate quarry operation, Royal Bay is a vibrant master-planned seaside community complete with schools, parks, trails, commercial shops and services. The addition of a new communications tower in Royal Bay responds to the neighbourhood’s unique topography that had proved challenging for telecommunications service delivery for residential and commercial populations, as well as for first responders.

“The West Shore region is among the fastest growing areas in the province, and CREST is continually seeking opportunities to keep pace with impacts on public safety communications connectivity throughout the Capital Region,” explained Al Marston, CREST’s General Manager. “Our co-location agreement with TELUS not only improves the reliability of public safety coverage for the Royal Bay neighbourhood, it strengthens our network’s capacity and builds coverage resiliency for the entire West Shore region.”
